- For an 'all round' useful resource we heartily recommend, the very useful and FREE, W3 Schools. With free online courses and tutorials, quick-pick lists and a fully searchable index, you can have your answer in moments.
- For Certification in Web Design from a reputable institute, we recommend BCIT's Web Technologies Certification. Courses available include HTML5, XHTML, XML, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, ASP, Responsive Web Design and more and all courses are available online via Distance Education. An Associate Certificate is also available.
- Content Management Systems (CMS) - depending on your needs, we recommend the following Open Source CMS options:
- WordPress - was originally designed as a blogging tool but it can actually be used in more advanced ways for full sites.
- Joomla! - a powerful CMS with a simple to use back end and lots of available templates to get you up and running.
- Drupal - high performance, scalable CMS with powerful a powerful taxonomy system and true design flexibility. The back end is a little intimidating but can also be customized for the client to make it more user friendly.
- Drupal Training and Support articles and podcasts are available at Lullabot and many of them are free.
